Toni Bergins, M.Ed., lives in a world of movement and energy, sharing her passion for dance openly with her students. An inspiring teacher, Kripalu Certified DansKinetics™ instructor, and actor, Toni draws on eleven years of experience to create a sacred and playful environment for transformation and spiritual practice. She developed JourneyDance™ as an opportunity for personal growth and healing using visual arts, theater, music, and dance. Based in New England, Toni continues to lead JourneyDance™ events and teacher trainings internationally
Michelle Cormack has been passionate and dedicated to working with Childbearing women for over 13 years. She is a Doula/Labour Assistant, Childbirth Educator, Pre & Postnatal Yoga & Pilates Teacher, Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner & Reflexologist with vast experience and understanding of childbearing issues. She has taught several teacher training programs and has been a Conference Presenter at several conferences, presenting on Pre & Postnatal Yoga, Pilates & related topics. She is the co-author & co-trainer (with Kam Thye Chow) of the Lotus Palm School of Thai Yoga Massage Prenatal program. .
As an inspired communicator, Seane’s classes are an eclectic fusion of various healing and Spiritual modalities making them intuitive, insightful and uplifting. Featured in commercials, magazines and named the “National Yoga Ambassador” for YouthAIDS, Seane utilizes her national platform to bring awareness to the HIV/AIDS crisis through her “Off the Mat, Into the World” campaign”. Her award winning DVD’s “Vinyasa Flow Yoga” are available through Gaiam and her MP3 downloadable classes on Iamplify.com.
Jason Crandell was recently named one of the U.S.’ “next generation of yoga teachers” (Yoga Journal), for his skillful, unique approach to vinyasa yoga. Jason is the creator of Yoga Journal’s newest dvds: Yoga for Wellbeing; Yoga for Morning, Noon, and Night; and, The Complete Beginner’s Guide to Yoga. He is a contributing editor for Yoga Journal and has authored over 13 articles for the magazine and website. His primary teacher is Rodney Yee.
Jill Cressy oversees Yoga, Pilates, Dance, Martial Arts, & Sport instruction programs at the Faculty of Physical Education and Health, University of Toronto and presents workshops on Energy Management, Nia Technique (a blend of Dance, Martial Arts and Healing Arts including Yoga), Voice Coaching, Leadership Empowerment & Workplace Vitality. Ms. Cressy is a Black Belt Nia Instructor, Can-Fit-Pro Fitness Instructor Specialist, PhysicalMind Institute Pilates Instructor, CALA Aquafitness Instructor, GRAVITYGroup Instructor and Personal Trainer with a Bachelor degree in Physical and Health Education. Jill is also trained in Fusion Fitness & Nia 5 Stages.
NISCHALA JOY DEVI is a masterful teacher, internationally renowned since 1974. She studied Yoga with masters in US, India, and lived as a monk with Swami Satchidanandaji for 18 years. Her landmark research in adapting Yoga for heart disease and cancer culminated in Yoga of the Heart ® certification course for teachers and health professionals. Author of The Healing Path of Yoga and The Secret Power of Yoga, A Woman’s Guide to the Heart and Spirit of the Yoga Sutras. Nischala’s teachings reflect the compassionate heart perspective in spirituality and scripture.
Bo Forbes is a clinical psychologist, yoga teacher, and integrative yoga therapist in the Boston area. She is the founder of Elemental Yoga, director of the Elemental Yoga Mind-Body Teacher Training Programs, and director of the Center for Integrative Yoga Therapeutics. With a background that includes training in biopsychology, sleep disorders, behavioral medicine, and stress management, Bo supplements more than 20 years of clinical experience with a practice in Mind-Body Medicine. She teaches workshops and intensives internationally, and has written for Yoga Journal, Body and Soul Magazine, and the International Journal of Yoga Therapy. Her book Yoga for Emotional Balance: Simple Practices to Relieve Anxiety and Depression, will be published in the fall of 2010.
Cynthia is the co-director of two yoga studios, The Yoga Sanctuary in Toronto. She has been practicing for over 2 decades and teaching for 11 years.
Since 2001, Cynthia has developed coordinated and taught the 250 hour teacher training, pre natal yoga and 40 hour intensives. Most recently she created a 250 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training programme. She is proud that she has laid the foundation of teaching skills for many of Toronto’s finest teachers. She is also certified in Kids Yoga. Cynthia has an instructional yoga CD of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga available in both a short-form CD and the full Primary Series double CD.
Cynthia brings love, light and the insights of many teachers to her classes. Her passion for yoga inspires and motivates her students to reach their goals, whether it be inner peace, body awareness or building self-confidence.
Maria E Garre, M.Ed, ERYT-500, is a Senior Teacher and Director for Shiva Rea’s Samudra School of Living Yoga offering Prana Flow, an energetic and transformational expression of Vinyasa Flow Yoga. In addition to assisting and studying with Shiva Rea for over 9 years, Maria leads workshops, teacher training and retreats world-wide.
Maria attended the Kripalu School of Ayurveda and has accrued over 800-hours of hands-on training in Ayurveda. In addition, she is a Certified Power Pilates Instructor, has a Masters in Education, and is registered through Yoga Alliance as a 500 E-RYT.
A Prana Flow teacher with over 15 years of study in Philosophy, Biological Sciences, Tantra, Ayurveda and Yoga, Maria offers a dynamic and liberating Yogic approach that embodies the alchemy of all these teachings. Maria is currently the Yoga Director for Ananda Shala in Frederick, Maryland and has taught at the Bali Spirit Festival , Toronto and Vancouver Yoga Conference and Show.
Yasmin has taught yoga for nearly a decade. Her practice is based in Ashtanga yoga and inspired by dance, nature and the interconnectivity of life. Also a writer, speaker and environmentalist, Yasmin is the owner of Om West Holistic Centre in Montreal, has toured Canada with David Suzuki, instructed professional athletes, and released a DVD series.
Ted Grand is an adventurer at heart. His yoga practice has brought him to take several teacher training programs around the world, studying traditional yoga with Georg Feuerstein, Bikram Choudhury and Janice Clarfield.
Ted developed the Moksha Yoga series after years of devoted practice and study.
Dorothy Guerra is the creator of The Yoga Birth Method. She developed this program through her work as Labour Doula and Child Birth Educator. She has been teaching yoga for over 15 years and has specialized in prenatal care. She owns Fertility to Delivery – Pregnancy Care Yoga Center. She is affiliated with CAPPA Canada Childbirth and Postpartum Association, Doula CARE Ontario, International Childbirth Education Association. She educates yoga teachers to use the Birth Method in prenatal classes to give expectant moms yoga tools for a mindful birth experience. She is also the president of the Ontario Yoga Association, a non profit organization that overlooks standards of yoga practice in Ontario.
Martin Kirk is a Certified Anusara Yoga® Instructor who travels abroad offering excellent and inspiring workshops, Immersions, Anatomy, Therapy and Teacher Trainings. With a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Martin has a special gift for anatomy and therapeutics. He is the author of the highly successful book, Hatha Yoga Illustrated and is co-writing (along with Ellen Saltonstall and Jordan Kirk) Yoga Anatomy: The Biomechanics of Anusara Yoga. Martin lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and son
Devinder Kaur's journey into sound and music began at age 5 with classical piano lessons with the Royal Conservatory of Music. After graduation from University, Devinder started a business career.
Her approach to teaching is to use her knowledge, experience, and positive attitude in a safe and fun style to help people reach their individual goals and to empower themselves through Yoga. Devinder's daily Yoga and Meditation practice is in the Kundalini Yoga tradition. She also appears as a regular guest leading Yoga classes on television programs and at Women's Conferences
Author and naturopathic doctor. She has developed a 17 week yoga-based addiction recovery program, as well as breast health yoga training. Sebastian Kowalik & Kaelyn Wong
Sebastian’s love for yoga came about after years of formal meditation practice. The joy of finding stillness and peace in the heart of movement compelled him to expand his practice with teacher training, during which he met Kaelyn.
Kaelyn’s love for yoga directly evolved from her background in martial arts. Her practice helped heal various injuries and gave her a deeper awareness into the importance of breath and alignment.
Together they discovered how partner yoga cultivates greater depth, mindfulness and connection. They both received certification from Acro Yoga Montreal and are excited to share their knowledge, joy and experience.
Mark Laham, innovative yoga instructor and seminar leader, teaches the ancient wisdoms of the East combined with modern principles of the West to individuals from all arenas of life. With a strong anatomy & physiology background, Andrea offers insight into the anatomy/physiology of the body by combining science with various healing, as well as spiritual, techniques directed at self exploration and understanding. With a deep understanding and passion for treating depression and anxiety through combination of eastern and western medicine, Andrea works with students to find personal balance.
Tias Little brings experience, wisdom and imagination to his teaching. He has trained extensively in the Iyengar and Ashtanga vinyasa yoga methods as well, his teaching focuses on yoga and anatomy, blending Western and Eastern perspectives. He continues as a student of Tibetan Buddhism and has practiced Zen meditation since 1992. Tias is a licensed massage therapist and has studied cranial-sacral therapy and somatics extensively. Tias has a master's degree in Eastern philosophy. He currently directs his Prajna Yoga program in Santa Fe with his wife Surya and leads yoga intensives nationally and internationally.
Ray Long, MD FRCSC is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and the founder of Bandha Yoga. Ray graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School with post-graduate training at Cornell University, McGill University, The University of Montreal and Florida Orthopedic Institute. He has studied hatha yoga for over twenty years, training extensively with B.K.S Iyengar and other leading yoga masters.
Blake Martin is a senior teacher with Lotus Palm and a Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. With degrees in Dance and Education, he is also a longtime martial artist and runner. Blake is currently a PhD student in Kinesiology at York University, investigating the role of attention in limb position sense.
Margot McKinnon is an internationally recognized and respected leader in Pilates training and instruction. Running two successful studios in Toronto, Margot’ desire is to make Pilates accessible to everyone. Jill brings more than 23 years of expertise including the moving arts of Modern Dance, Pilates, Bodywork, Shiatsu, and Butoh. Legendary Yoga Master Sri Dharma Mittra, now 70, the first independent Yoga teacher in New York City and known as the “Rock of Yoga,” has taught hundreds of thousands over a near-half century. Founder of the Dharma Yoga Center in New York City, he has created over 300 popular postures. Sri Dharma is the author of The Master Yoga Chart of 908 Postures, Asanas: 608 Yoga Poses and “Maha Sadhana” DVD series. “The Teacher’s Teacher,” Sri Dharma travels and conducts “Maha Sadhana” and “Dharma Yoga Life of a Yogi” programs worldwide.
Sadie Nardini is the founder of Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga and was called a "rising star" by Yoga Journal for her ability to transform any body, using dynamic real-world wisdom, new alignment and creative sequencing. She travels internationally, training teachers and students alike to move and live from deep center. Sadie is the co-founder of The Fierce Club in New York City, creator of bestselling yoga DVDs and author of the Road Trip Guide to the Soul [Wiley].

Aadil Palkhivala, regarded as a teacher of teachers, received an Advanced Iyengar Teacher's Certificate at 22. He is the founder and director of Yoga Centers in Bellevue, Washington. He is a naturopath, certified Ayurvedic health practitioner and shiatsu and Swedish therapist, a clinical hypnotherapist, and author. He holds degrees in law, physics, and mathematics.
Prahlada, a dynamic and humorous teacher of Classical Hatha Yoga, is the director of the Sivananda Yoga Centre in Toronto and one of the organization's senior teachers. Prahlada was personally trained by Swami Vishnu-devananda from an early age and now teaches internationally on Teachers' Training and Advanced Teachers' Training courses.
Natasha is a Senior Teacher at Yoga Works, where she has taught since 1997. She is the featured teacher in Yoga Journal’s “Step-by-Step” Home Practice DVD series, and has appeared in magazines and on television, as well as in the photo essay “Yoga: A Yoga Journal Book.” She is a contributing editor and columnist for Yoga Journal, and writes the on-line column “Ask the Beginner’s Expert”. In addition to her classes in Boston, Natasha travels extensively, teaching at conferences and leading workshops and teacher trainings around the world.
A Laban/Bartenieff somatic specialist, Nadine connects her hands on clinical skills with developmental patterns and Space Harmony to stimulate neurogenesis. Her knowledge of the interrelationship between systems of the body and emotions supports her abilty to facilitate the awakening of sensory awareness and enhances a clearer expression of our meaning in movement. This inner to outer approach utilizing principles of movement integrates bodymind connectivity.
Tama Soble teaches yoga classes for students at all levels and is one of the primary faculty members for the Ester Myers Yoga Studio Teacher Training Programme. She teaches advanced seminars for teachers and offers retreats in Ontario and Costa Rica. Tama Soble co-owns and directs EMYS with Monica Voss.
Michael Stone is a renowned yoga teacher, psychotherapist and author.
He is based in Toronto where he leads Centre of Gravity, a diverse community of Yoga and Buddhist practitioners interested in the integration of committed practice, daily life and social action. In addition to his yoga teaching he trains doctors and therapists internationally in mindfulness meditation and Buddhist psychology. He is the author of "The Inner Tradition of Yoga," and "Yoga For A World Out Of Balance: Teachings on Ethics and Social Action," and a forthcoming collection on Yoga and Buddhism, all published by Shambhala Press. Michael's teaching revolves around integrating the many limbs of yoga including postures, meditation, ethics and psychology so that one's practice integrates the emotional, physical, cultural and relational aspects of contemporary life. He in known for going beyond the physical alignment of yoga and into the workings of mind and habit in order to find true ease in one's body and heart and relationships.
Sarahis an internationally recognized teacher and entrepreneur based in Park City, Utah; Sarah is the creator of Flowmotion™ and the founder of the progressive apparel line, meSheeky. She has been featured on the cover of Yoga Journal, in a video with Shiva Rea, and in several other yoga-related publications.
Sarah presents a progressive approach to flow yoga, offering urban elements, the freedom to color outside the lines and a way to practice that serves the modern-day yogi. The roots of Sarah’s teaching are expressed through the creativity of her own signature style. With a background in dance and a Master's in Physical Therapy, she presents an untraditional physical practice grounded in therapeutic movement. Sarah draws inspiration from many world-renowned master yoga instructors, including the leading teacher of Prana Flow, Shiva Rea, with whom Sarah is honored to have assisted. Jonathan Urla, MFA, PMA and Power Pilates Certified, ACE Certified PT and LWMC, has been a leader and innovator in the fields of Pilates, yoga, and movement sciences for more than 20 years. Author of Yogilates: Integrating Yoga and Pilates for Complete Fitness, Strength, and Flexibility(HarperCollins, 2002) he is a recognized master Pilates instructor, and a veteran yoga practitioner . An international presenter, he is frequently featured as an expert on mind/body fitness on television and in magazines including Newsweek, Self, Shape, Vogue, Elle, Harpers, Glamour, Fitness, Cosmopolitan, and Redbook.
Deanna Villa, Founder of Thai Massage Toronto School (in 1998), is a Master Teacher and Practitioner of Thai Massage. Deanna offers 12 years of therapeutic hands on experience, teaches internationally, and is a Doctor of Natural Medicine. Deanna is a masterful and compassionate teacher, guiding her students with precise and meticulous instruction, demonstration and correction. She promotes safe postures and stable stances that are driven by powerful movement, while highlighting modifications to suit each individual pairing. Her method focuses on a strong foundation of stability, alignment, quality of attention to each posture, linked with breath.
Monica Voss has been teaching since 1981.
Originally trained by Esther Myers in Iyengar yoga, she met Vanda Scaravelli in 1986 and took to her approach instantly.
Monica has taught adults, children, families, disabled students, pre- and post-natal women and students with cancer.
Monica has been training teachers since 1986. In addition to teaching weekly classes in Toronto, Monica offers teacher training, workshops and retreats in Canada, the U.S., Great Britain, Mexico and the Caribbean. She co-owns and directs Esther Myers Yoga Studio with Tama Soble.
