Faculty - Ella Isakov

A yoga teacher and movement lover. Ella has been teaching yoga since 2008. After graduating with a Psychology undergraduate degree and a Masters in Education she worked overseas where she discovered Ashtanga yoga. In 2007, Ella completed Downward Dog Centre’s teacher training and has since studied with Judith Lasater (whom she assists annually in her Restorative yoga teacher trainings), Ana Forrest, and Seane Corn, to name a few.

Ella is a lover of movement and is certified in Yoga Tune-Up, Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) and ELDOA, along with being a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist. Ella is passionate about sharing her love of yoga, movement and the healing arts. Her purpose in life has always been to inspire others to delve deeper to uncover their inner knowing and light within so they can lead a life of courage, balance and peace. In a group yoga setting, Ella takes you on a journey to look within with an inclusive explorative playful sequencing, and attention to alignment while weaving in a connection between body, mind and heart. She also integrates mobility and strength exercises to ease tension and pain which can lead to a wider range of movements around your joints. The classes are themed so you will gain an understanding of what is happening in your body, and how you can actively participate in creating greater well-being and harmony within. When Ella isn’t teaching she is probably upside down in handstand or gymnastic rings, playing with her cats or creating her famous raw desserts.

Heart Chakra Flow

Come explore a class that will fill your heart with love! A unique vinyasa class that will tend to your fourth chakra, the heart. Be ready to experience a practice that will keep you engaged to stay present to how you feel, and fill you with compassion and love. Vinyasa class, closing with Restorative postures. Options will be given to accommodate all levels.

Creative Flow for Healthy Shoulders

In this workshop we will look at the anatomy of the shoulder, particularly where we typically lack mobility and the muscles that are underused to cause this. Come experience a unique class that will give you the feel of a vinyasa class, with the integration of simple exercises that will create greater mobility and stability around the shoulder girdle. This class is for all levels, and will offer fresh ideas for your own practice and teachings.

Mobile Joints, Mobile Body

Joint health! Something we don't talk about enough. Come explore the shoulder, hip, and knee joints, and discover how to create greater stability, strength, and movement around your joints. You will experience a vinyasa flow class that has the flow you are used to, but with added flavour of simple mobility exercises that create more stable and mobile joints. Expect to walk out of class feeling sturdier and steadier, and perhaps even with a swagger in your step.

Restorative Yoga for Anxiety and Depression

Come experience a unique restorative class. Fatigue, anxiety, and depression are the result of a life of busyness and the multiple roles we play today. In this session, we will experience a specific meditation, pranayama (breathing technique), along with supported postures to cultivate softening, calmness and greater well-being.
