founder of Rooted Tree Wellness Studio, a virtual studio that offers movement and mindfulness classes with many modifications
and variations. I was voted the #1 Fitness Instructor in York Region in 2021, and our Studio was voted the #1 Business that Gives Back to our work with the community.

Learn How to Create a Yogic Sleep with Breathwork and Restful Postures

This workshop is inspired by Yoga Nidra. Participants will learn relaxing and downregulating breathing techniques combined with a series of yoga stretches that are held for 3-5 minutes, supported with many props for optimal comfort.Come and learn how to bring yourself into a proper restful place for a healthy sleep cycle.

Understanding the Pain Cycle and How Movement is Critical to Reduce

Participants will learn the pain cycle and how it applies to their personal pain journey. We will address the most common pain points in movement practices and how to approach them in a safe and accessible way. We will discuss how cognitive fears, anxiety, and stress play a role in physical pain and the highly researched mindfulness tools that can help people move out of the persistent pain cycle. This workshop will benefit people looking for further education on their own pain, as well as movement practitioners who wish to deepen their knowledge of how pain can show up in a student's practice and suitable modifications that can be offered.

Optimizing Chair Yoga to Feel your Best Every Day

Whether you're looking to add more movement into your daily life, trying to reduce aches and pains, or are curious about adding chair yoga to your teaching repertoire, this is the workshop for you. Learn how to move the whole body without leaving your chair. This workshop will include the most beneficial seated postures and how to sequence them to create a yogic experience rather than just a string of random stretches.

Muscle Maintenance as We Age

Muscle Maintenance as We Age is a specific strength training group class designed to maintain muscle mass and improve bone density. This workshop will touch on anatomy and how we can apply this knowledge to build functional strength safely in the body for all levels. Learn how to build strength without creating pain or inflammation in the body. This workshop is designed for your day-to-day strength and to maintain your independence for as long as possible (i.e., gardening, hauling groceries, doing stairs, etc.), not for weight-loss or aesthetic purposes.
