Faculty - Dr. Kirstie Griffiths

Dr. Kirstie Griffiths is a Canadian Chiropractor and Yoga Teacher practicing in Guelph, Ontario. Her passion is helping people overcome pain using a mind-body approach that integrates chiropractic and yoga. Her mission is to bridge the gap between healthcare providers prescribing yoga for pain, and people being able to access yoga in a way that is safe, therapeutic, and effective for pain management. She founded “Yoga for Back Pain,” a clinical program that combines Education, Movement, and Meditation specifically designed for people with pain. Dr. Griffith is the author of the best-selling book “Back to Wellness: a mind-body approach to managing your back pain.” She is also the creator of Guelph’s first Yoga Fest, a charitable event to bring the community together with movement, mindfulness, and breath.

Yoga for low back pain

Join Dr. Kirstie Griffiths and learn how to gently relieve back pain and tension with this 1-hour guided yoga class. Yoga for Back Pain integrates the wisdom of yoga with evidence-based rehabilitation practices to provide a sequence that is designed to support and strengthen the back. This class will teach you how to feel confident moving in a way that will not trigger or worsen your pain and provides modifications and cueing to meet your specific needs. The class ends with a guided meditation to let go of physical tension and shift the nervous system into a healing response.+
