Through a combination of practise and lecture participants will be introduced to a common postural pattern and how it impedes a student's ability to move, how to develop an interoceptive yoga practise for re-patterning the brain, and methods for integrating SomaYoga techniques into your current style of teaching to help your students release chronically tight muscles. Pain and The Stretch Reflex

Stretching is often our go-to solution for chronically tight muscles. Yet the muscles we constantly stretch don_t seem to let go permanently and we stretch again and again hoping they will release. Chronically tight muscles don_t communicate well with the sensory-motor system which is why they remain chronically tight. Learn how to identify chronic tension, how the brain and central nervous system affect chronic tension/pain and how you can better support your students to release chronic tension/pain.
